بيان مشترك من سفارتي الولايات المتحدة وفرنسا في لبنان وقوات اليونيفيل بشأن آلية تنفيذ وقف الأعمال العدائية

العرب نيوز ( بيروت – لبنان ) اليوم، إنعقدت لجنة آلية تنفيذ وقف الأعمال العدائية في موقع تابع لليونيفل في رأس الناقورة في اجتماع ثالث للجنة الخماسية. ترأس الاجتماع كل من نائب مساعد رئيس الولايات المتحدة آموس هوكستين والجنرال الأميركي جاسبر جيفرز بمشاركة ممثلين عن فرنسا وجيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي والجيش اللبناني واليونيفيل، فضلاً عن المنسق الخاص للأمم المتحدة في لبنان. ناقشت المجموعة خططاً فنيةً عسكريةً للانسحاب التدريجي لجيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي من كامل منطقة جنوب الليطاني وانتشار الجيش اللبناني، بدءًا من الغرب والتقدم شرقًا. الجيش اللبناني استعدّ، على مدار الشهر الماضي، لتنفيذ هذه العملية عبر إزالة أكثر من 10000 قطعة من الذخائر غير المنفجرة، بدعم من اليونيفيل، والتي كان من ِشأنها أن تعيق انتشار الجيش بأمان. وقد بدأت اليوم العملية الإجمالية عند الساعة 12:00 ظهراً، حيث قامت وحدات جيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي في الناقورة بالتحرّك باتجاه جنوب الخط الأزرق. الجيش اللبناني هو المؤسسة الوحيدة للدفاع عن لبنان وأمنه، وتعمل لجنة آليّة تنفيذ وقف الاعمال العدائية بشكل وثيق مع قادة الجيش اللبناني لدعم تحركاته.

On Cessation of Hostilities Implementation Mechanism

ARAB -NEWS (BEIRUT LEBANON) The Cessation of Hostilities Implementation Mechanism convened at a UNIFIL position in Ras Naqoura today for the third Pentalateral Meeting. Amos Hochstein, the Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States, and U.S. Major General Jasper Jeffers co-chaired the meeting, joined by representatives of France, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), and UNIFIL, as well as the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon. The group discussed military technical plans for the phased withdrawal of the IDF from the entire South Litani Area and deployment of LAF, beginning in the west and progressing east. The LAF have been preparing to conduct this operation for the past month by removing over 10,000 pieces of unexploded ordnance, with UNIFIL support, that would otherwise prevent safe troop deployment. The overall operation began today at 12:00 hours, when IDF units in Naqoura initiated movement south of the Blue Line. The LAF is the only institution for the defense and security of Lebanon and the Mechanism is working closely with LAF leaders to support their actions
