Thousands set to benefit as Mobility Parking applications go online
ARAB NEWS (Sydney-AUSTRALIA ) Friday, 18 September 2026-More than 100,000 mobility impaired motorists and passengers will no longer need to visit a service centre each year as applications to renew Mobility Parking Permits go online.
The new digital service removes the need to print application forms, scan and upload them as the transaction goes digital.
Of the 140,000 people who applied for a mobility parking pass last financial year, 98 per cent of them attended a Service NSW centre to submit their application. Now the form is digitised and the process for GPs has been simplified, thousands of people living with a mobility disability can access the services they need more easily.
Anyone looking to apply for parking concessions under the NSW Mobility Parking Scheme and the Disability Parking Scheme can now open an application online from the comfort of their own home through the MyServiceNSW account.
This new digital process provides a secure and faster way for practitioners to submit medical certificates directly into MyServiceNSW accounts, reducing the need for the manual handling of forms.
The Mobility Parking Scheme supports individuals with permanent or temporary mobility impairments, including older Australians, people with disability, and those recovering from injury.
If needed, assistance can still be accessed through Service NSW Centres and phone support, ensuring people can use the method that best suits their needs.
For complex applications or where assistance is required applicants may still need to visit a centre, but for the majority of applications this will not be the case.

Minister for Customer Services and Digital Government, Jihad Dib said:
“For people who rely on mobility parking, getting a permit is now much simpler and more secure. We’re removing the paperwork and the unnecessary handling of medical information, as well as saving people time at the doctor.
“NSW is leading the way on improving digital services to help make things like applying for the mobility parking permit more accessible.”
Minister for Roads, Jenny Aitchison said:
“This initiative is all about helping reduce transport disadvantage and making it easier for people with mobility-related disabilities to access essential services, participate in their community, and maintain their independence.
“By streamlining this process, we’re making sure eligible motorists can apply for or renew their Mobility Parking Scheme permit from home without the paperwork, while still providing support to people who need it.”
Minister for Disability Inclusion, Kate Washington said:
“Our government has been making NSW more inclusive by improving the accessibility of our services.
“Taking Mobility Parking Permits online is a practical change that will make life a lot easier for a lot of people across the State. This is one of many practical changes we have made that remove barriers to participation for people with disability.”
Parliamentary Secretary for Disability Inclusion Liesl Tesch said:
“As a wheelchair user, I know how much time goes into accessing government services that should be simple. This change removes a real barrier, making life a little easier for people with disability.
“No longer having to renew a Mobility Parking Permit in person may seem small, however every day, people with mobility needs run into accessibility barriers that most people never notice. This change means that there is one less thing standing between people with disability and getting on with our life.”
Vision Australia’s Lead Policy Advisor, Bruce Maguire said:
“The Mobility Parking Scheme is a great benefit to many of our clients, but in the past there have been barriers to applying for and renewing permits because all the forms have only been in print and on paper.
“With the digitisation of the Scheme, it will be much easier for people who are blind to benefit from it and participate in the community. We commend the NSW Government for this empowering initiative.”

قال وزير خدمات العملاء والحكومة الرقمية، جهاد ديب:
