الاتحاد الاوروبي : يأسف بشدة لاستمرار الجمود السياسي والتدهور الاقتصادي في لبنان

العرب نيوز ( باريس – فرنسا ) صدر بيان عن الممثل الأعلى للاتحاد الأوروبي جوزيب بوريل بشأن اعتذار الرئيس المكلف سعد الحريري عن تأليف الحكومة

يأخذ الاتحاد الأوروبي علماً باعتذار رئيس الحكومة المكلف سعد الحريري عن تشكيل الحكومة، ويأسف بشدة لاستمرار الجمود السياسي في البلاد، فضلاً عن عدم إحراز تقدم في تنفيذ الإصلاحات العاجلة.

لقد مضى عام تقريباً على عدم وجود حكومة ذات صلاحيات كاملة في لبنان، مما أدى إلى أزمة مالية واقتصادية غير مسبوقة لا يزال الشعب اللبناني يواجه عواقبها المأساوية.

وتقع على عاتق القادة اللبنانيين مسؤولية حل الأزمة الحالية الذاتية الصنع. وثمة حاجة إلى الوحدة والمسؤولية لمواجهة التحديات المتعددة للبلاد وتلبية التطلعات المشروعة للشعب اللبناني.

ويدعو الاتحاد الأوروبي، مرة أخرى، جميع القوى السياسية اللبنانية إلى دعم التشكيل العاجل للحكومة. وينبغي أن تبدأ الاستشارات النيابية لهذا الغرض دون تأخير. ويحتاج لبنان إلى حكومة قادرة على تنفيذ الإصلاحات الرئيسية الاقتصادية والخاصة بالحوكمة والتحضير لانتخابات عام 2022، والتي يجب إجراؤها في موعدها المحدد.

ويبقى الاتفاق مع صندوق النقد الدولي ضرورياً لإنقاذ البلاد من الانهيار المالي.

ويعتبر استقرار لبنان وازدهاره أساسيان للمنطقة ككل ولأوروبا. ويجدد الاتحاد الأوروبي دعمه القوي المستمر للبنان وشعبه، ولاستقراره وأمنه وسلامة أراضيه وسيادته واستقلاله السياسي.

Lebanon: Statement by the High Representative on the Prime Minister-designate stepping down

Arab News – Paris -France – The European Union takes note of Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri recusing himself from government formation. The EU deeply regrets the persisting political stalemate in the country as well as the lack of progress in the implementation of urgent reforms.

Lebanon has remained without a fully empowered government for almost a year, which has precipitated an unprecedented financial and economic crisis, the dramatic consequences of which the Lebanese population continues to face.

It is the responsibility of Lebanese leaders to solve the current domestic, self-made crisis. Unity and responsibility are needed to address the country’s multiple challenges and meet the legitimate aspirations of the Lebanese people.

The EU calls, once again, on all Lebanese political forces to support the urgent formation of a government. Parliamentary consultations to this end should start without delay. Lebanon needs a government capable of delivering on key economic and governance reforms and to prepare for the elections in 2022, which need to take place on schedule.

An agreement with the International Monetary Fund remains essential to rescue the country from financial collapse.

Lebanon’s stability and prosperity are crucial for the whole region and for Europe. The European Union reaffirms its continuous strong support for Lebanon and its people, for its stability, security, territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence.
